The concept for the business started after a poor experience of hiring a baby capsule from a well known retailer. A very worn out capsule was supplied and no instructions given on how to fit it into the car.

Another situation arose when a friend's newborn baby was very unsettled and although there were products to assist with settling babies, the uncertainty of their success and the expense prevented any of them being tried.

From these events, the idea of hiring quality product and providing the service and support to back them up emerged.

1. Is the equipment sanitized?

Yes, all equipment is carefully cleaned and sanitized prior to each new hire. The equipment is also safety checked before each rental. We treat the equipment as if our own children were using it.

2. Is the equipment new?

All of our equipment is purchased brand new and is maintained in excellent condition. We pride ourselves on the high standard of safety and cleanliness we offer. Each item is thoroughly inspected before each hire.

3. Will you install car seats?

Yes, we are certified Safe2Go Technician and trained to provide the safest and most appropriate child restraint and installation as we believe that your child’s safety is of paramount importance.

4. Do you carry liability insurance?

Early Years holds public liability insurance for the hire of baby equipments and toys.

We are very flexible in terms of hire rates as we offer special deals to customers who are having twins, or for grandparents who just want to hire few items for a weekend.

5. What is the law regarding child restraints?

The law states that children under five years must be carried in an approved child restraint. Child restraints must be suitable for the child's size and weight and properly fitted and adjusted. Child restraints certified for use in New Zealand will show an “S” mark (NZ Standard AS 1754), or a tick mark (Australian Standards AS1754), or an “E” mark (European Standard ECE 44).
